Footing the Bill for Climate Change

Very large investments will be needed in order to finance a global shift to new energy sources as well as the adaptation measures that will be necessary, particularly for the poorest and most vulnerable communities and countries.

How much money is needed, and for what? How can these resources be mobilised? What are the most promising proposals that have been presented? Who should pay? And how can sufficient transparency, participation and involvement of communities and civil society be ensured, which are necessary for the funds to be used wisely and for the benefit of the most vulnerable? Can Swedish industry benefit from this transformation?

The report “Footing the bill for climate change – the duty of the rich and the right of the poor to development”, written by Göran Eklöf, was launched and discussed at the seminar.
