How to simultaneously tackle the right to development and the climate crisis?

Any successful response to climate change must simultaneously address the challenges of global injustices and development. An integrated approach is necessary, and the only way to overcome the strong divisions between rich and poor countries in the climate negotiations. What are the responses that address climate, development and equity in an integrated manner? How can the gaps between policy and science, and between the rich and the poor, be bridged?

SSNC and Stockholm Environment Institute jointly hosted the first seminar in the series, which addressed this issue. Both organisations participate in the project “Integrated approach to climate and development”, together with representatives from the UN Commission on Sustainable Development, climate negotiators, civil society organisations and others.
