Our global work
When the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation was first founded over one hundred years ago, its work dealt with protecting Swedish nature. Over time, environmental problems have become increasingly global and our operations have therefore been widened.
In order to become more efficient in our environmental activities we must work across borders. We are therefore collaborating with around 60 environmental organisations in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
These organisations range from global networks to locally based groups. Some work on a broad front – from grassroots level to lobbying activities at the highest political level. Others work on a smaller scale, for example with smallholders or as think tanks. Together we are developing knowledge on how we can improve the environmental situation in the world in the fastest and most efficient way. |
