During 9th–11th of November, we participate in a regional workshop in Nouakchott, Mauritania during which the report To Draw the Line will be presented and discussed.
The West African regional association of artisanal fish workers (FNP) is organizing a workshop with the aim of discussing partnership agreements and how the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy is affecting the region. One of the outcomes of the meeting will be a collective response to the Euorpean Commissions Green Book on Fisheries. Attending the meeting are delegations from Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Cape Verde, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal and Mauritania. In addition workshop will be opened by the Mauritanian Fisheries Minister and attended by numerous government officials and press.
The report To Draw the Line (with the French title Menés en bateau) will be presented by the author and SSNC representative Mikael Cullberg. The workshop is being facilitated by SSNC’s partner organization Coalition for Fair Fisheries (CFFA). Financial support is provided by SSNC.
