This is how we ensure that our funds are used properly 

The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC) has a so-called 90-account at the PlusGirot and the Bankgirot, which means that we are monitored by Swedish Fundraising Control and adhere to their rigorous standards. These include a special annual audit of SSNC’s revenues and expenses, which is reviewed by auditors appointed by Swedish Fundraising Control.

SSNC belongs to Giva Sverige (the Swedish Fundraising Association), which promotes ethical and professional fundraising and has drafted ethical guidelines and rules as well as a quality code that all members have committed themselves to adhere to.

Auditors are elected at SSNC’s general meetings. They operate completely independently and are tasked with auditing the association’s accounts and activities. They report to the general meeting by means of an audit report. 

SSNC has a capital investment policy regulating how the association’s liquid assets may be managed. Environmental sustainability and social responsibility play a key role in the association’s capital management, which should clearly reflect the association’s leading position with regards to these issues.

The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation takes a firm stand against all forms of corruption. This is reflected in the behaviour of both employees and elected representatives. 

The association’s anti-corruption policy 

The association’s funds may not be used for alcohol. If, for instance, alcohol is consumed at an office party, this is done at that individual’s own initiative and expense. On such occasions, drinking is done with moderation.

SSNC’s code of conduct 

The main office of the SSNC should serve as a role model in its internal work as well as practice what we preach. We achieve this by means of a high level of expertise, continuous improvement and by minimising our environmental impact in each individual decision. Environmental considerations also constitute an acceptable reason for a higher cost.
